Enraptured by the dance of form and color, light and motion, wind and wave, I seek to create a poetry of place using light, rhythm, and veiled color as a means to represent the music of the physical world. Visual records kept when rafting the Colorado river, hiking the rain forest of Borneo, walking the streets of Shanghai’s Old Town or exploring temple sculptures in Mumbai provide Cliff Notes that record our planet’s biodiversity. The work, a visual response to the underlying rhythms of cycles and seasons, traces vibrations sensed just below surface awareness and records the exuberance felt when beauty and biology become co-conspirators in the creation of wonder.
